Step 2. Use the plunger

Insert the plunger over the drain so that it creates a seal around the drain. Push down and up the plunger quickly, creating suction that will force the blockage out of the way.

Step 3. Test the bathtub

Once you have plunged the bathtub, test it by running water down the drain. If the water drains away normally, then the blockage has been removed.

Step 4. Clean up

Clean up any residue or debris that was left over from the blockage. Flush out the drain with hot water to ensure it is free of any remaining debris.
